The Log Cabin
$225.00 per 1–2 persons/night. There’s also a 13% tax. Two night minimum on weekends.
The Log Cabin, circa 1854, is the first structure that was built on this historic homestead. A stay in the Log Cabin, where the Karl Itz family raised nine children, lets you reflect on the character of the pioneers while enjoying all of today’s luxury amenities in a charming cottage. Enjoy a romantic evening in front of the fieldstone fireplace, a focal point of the living room. Set the mood with special music or a nostalgic movie. The TV, DVD and stereo are hidden in an antique jelly cupboard.
The bathroom provides the absolute ultimate romantic bathing experience. The look of old limestone and plaster walls, a natural limestone floor, and a cedar ceiling supported by ancient juniper beams provide the perfect setting for the whirlpool tub for two tucked into the corner. There is also a separate shower. In the opposite corner, your eye is delighted by a small kiva fireplace to warm your bath on chilly evenings.
The French doors in the bedroom let fresh Hill Country breezes and the songs of Mother Nature lull you to sleep in the king-size bed, dressed in beautiful linens. In the morning, step through the French doors to the secluded back porch. Relax in the swing and enjoy a breath-taking view of Palo Alto Creek while enjoying your morning coffee.
