This wonderful pioneer farmstead is nestled in the hills just outside Fredericksburg, along the flowing waters of Palo Alto Creek. Palo Alto Creek Farm retains all of its original buildings, providing a visual timeline from 1854 when this farmstead was first settled by German immigrants Peter and Christine Itz and their 6 children. Their oldest son Karl married in 1856. He and his bride later raised their family of 9 children here on the farmstead. The farm remained in the Itz family for more than 100 years, providing a home for 5 generations of the family. Palo Alto Creek Farm continues to offer the hospitality of a time gone by.

While staying at Palo Alto Creek Farm, enjoy the abundant wildlife. Early in the morning, wild turkey have been known to meander up the creek, and there is a never-ending display of bird activity and song. Guests especially enjoy sitting under the 800-year-old Live Oak to watch the deer that come in each evening. If you want a real soul-expanding experience, go outside at night and look up! The stars are incredible. Guests are free to roam the acreage. The surrounding area is ideal for walking, running, hiking or biking.

We have four guest houses for you to choose from. Soak in your own private bath, warm your toes by the fireplace or just relax on your porch. Every house is its own private refuge. For further relaxation, we offer full spa services and professional massage at our day spa. The Farm has everything to make your stay the ultimate getaway.

“We don’t want to leave and will surely be back. We truly felt like visiting family members because of the special homespun treatment – cookies, food, flowers… you are doing this top-notch!! Will recommend!” Guests from the Woodlands, TX

“This place is beautiful it’s just far enough out to be away from the busy city the houses are all so homey and comfortable I can’t give this a high enough rating. Breakfast and fruits along with drinks at no charge stocked in the fridge fresh flowers and I even met the owner she was so sweet. Deer by the creek every afternoon and morning breakfast with a jack rabbit and goats running around . Perfect little get away and so affordable definitely won’t get this type of service and treatment anywhere else we will definitely be back!!” Hailey W

“A stay at Palo Alto Creek Farm is a true escape from the usual pace of everyday life. In an idyllic tranquil setting, the historic buildings are tastefully decorated and restored in such a way to make them comfortable while preserving their historic features. The generous “breakfasts” provided are another highlight of the accommodations – a real treat! We stayed in the Log Cabin and loved it! The surrounding fields with the burros, goats, and longhorns are beautiful. We walked down to the creek, actually caught a few (very small) fish, and birded the property, where feathered friends are plentiful. If you are fortunate enough to visit when the owners are present, it will be an added treat. They are delightful and knowledgeable folks. Our visit was an enjoyable, relaxing getaway and we highly recommend a stay at Palo Alto Creek Farm.” Ranetta M, Folsom, LA
